I posted this earlier, and didn't get any response. I have
found some serial fixes on the NetBSD ftp site, but they won't apply
to 1.2. Now that my printer is working, I'm getting a lot more silo
overflows. (I'm also getting some ring buffer overflows on my
Novell-2000 card, but I expect that this will not cause data loss).

I tried a trick that had helped earlier --- increasing the
TTYHOG parameter along with a couple of associated malloc's, but this
actually made the problem worse in my case (386-40 w/ 8M RAM). Before
my switch to 1.2, I had some patches that worked quite well to reduce
data loss on the serial ports. It had something to do with a high
priority interupt to switch on the flow-off bit (the hardware flow
control that requires software :).

Has anyone got these patches upgraded to 1.2 or better?

Dave.
