Please note that even with these changes, the lkm for linux emulation is
not ready for prime time.

I put the stuff in the tree and have had little time to maintain it,
but am looking at it again now.

A suggestion was made some time ago to help make the kernel friendlier
for compatibility LKM's.  Some of the suggestions presented at that time
are in the tree while others are not.
