Nope, on a Triton motherboard, you are free to mix EDO and FPM SIMMs
however you want, as long you pair them up in the same bank.  For example,

Bank 0:  EDO, EDO		Bank 0: FPM, FPM
Bank 1:  FPM, FPM		Bank 1: EDO, EDO

are both acceptable (remember NetBSD 1.1 booted), but

Bank 0:  EDO, FPM		
Bank 1:  FPM, EDO

won't work.  I haven't tried it, but I bet the computer wouldn't even boot
up in this situation.


As far as I can tell, having NetBSD 1.1 and Windoze boot, but not NetBSD
1.1B, is a sign that the problem is related to 1.1B
