This worked well. I made the change an replaced the kernel on the adaptec
kernel floppy with my freshly compiled kernel.

This booted fine and the install went well until after I copied the kernel
to my hard drive. After booting from the hard drive I got the NetBSD Boot
prompt but it couldn't find the kernel.

Since it was late i figured I had done something like forgotten to mark
the partition active. :)

I decided to run DOS fdisk again but discovered to my dismay that the dos
floppy no longer booted with the SCSI BIOS active. I tried WinNT and
NetBSD boot floppies and the NetBSD floppies are the only ones I can get
to boot.

I reset the adapter (adaptec 1540-CP) to factory defaults but still no
luck. The only way I can get DOS to boot is by disabling the SCSI BIOS.
Since I am booting DOS only to run fdisk on my SCSI drive this is
counterproductive.

This adapter previously booted dos floppies when set to factory defaults.

I am obviously no scsi genius, so if anyone knows something stupid I am
overlooking please let me know or tell me where I should RTFM.

thanks
