If it is no longer expected that memory will experience occasional failures,
then those expectations are not accurate.  Corruption of RAM due to cosmic
rays and other external interference will continue to occur.  Trying to cast
the removal of the ability to detect such corruption when using commonly
affordable RAM as anything other than contemptable brain damage is laughable.
