Are you sure the Deskpro 5/90XL uses one of the supported SCSI host adapters?

I notice that the boot process finds an AMD PCnet-PCI onboard. Is it possible
that the machine uses the PCnet+SCSI, which has both a PCnet-PCI and AMD's
new PCI SCSI host adapter on one chip? It would make sense; I don't believe
AMD even sells a version of the PCI SCSI chip that doesn't include the PCnet.

We don't have support for that SCSI chip, and I am unaware of anyone working on
a driver for it. FWIW, our Lance driver occasionally flakes out when confronted
with a PCnet-PCI, but the results aren't usually serious: lots of diagnostic
messages and occasional performance degradation.
