I'm curious what it takes to get the pc speaker driver working under -current.
I tried just configuring the spkr0 device into it, but it didn't work. I
assume the PC speaker driver just lets you generate tones, ala the /dev/speaker
device found in 1.0 kernels. Has anyone completed a /dev/audio compatible
speaker device? I'd like to be able to add some sound support to my laptop,
which has no sound card. Linux had a driver that used the pcspeaker as
a device (crummy sound quality, almost not worth it) to simulate the voxware
drivers, so I know it is technically feasible.

On another note, relating to one of my other toys, has VoxWare been ported
to NetBSD yet? How difficult would it be to integrate the FreeBSD voxware
driver into a NetBSD kernel? On a broader note, how compaible are drivers
between the two source trees?
