I don't know about him... But I have an AMD 486DX2/80 which is
designed to be run at 80MHz. Alongside where it has the AMD stuff and
Windows logo silk-screened on the chip, it says "Fan and heat sink
REQUIRED". :-)

My machine had been crashing and hanging a lot recently. I opened up
my case to figure out what was going on. I noticed that my CPU fan
was making a funny rattling noise. So I reached down and touched it,
touching the heat sink at the same time, and I burned my finger! That
sucker was HOT!

I just happened to have a spare fan around (this one from PC Power and
Cooling -- a reputable company). Threw out the old fan/heat sink, and
attached the new one. My machine has been up for 13-1/2 days since.

So, let that be a lesson to ya!
