Tell us what this could be. My machine still doesn't probe the AHA1742
and drops into debugger "not bloody likely".
My config hasn't changed since the last report on current-users.

maybe it's because i wildcard the ahb* and do not probe for ahb0?
I'll try that one, if i succeed, you will get notice in a few hours, 
otherwise can you please put up a running ahb-kernel for ftp on 
ftp.netbsd.org, possibly one close to my setup?
