There's one easy bootmanager, that I use: OS-BS. Ok, the name
could be explained wrongly, but ;-)

I find it easy to install, it has a timeout, and a default partition to
boot from (if it times out). OS-BS can even be found on various NetBSD
ftp sites: ftp.netbsd.org:/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.0/i386/utils/os-bs135.exe,
for example.

Ok, you have to boot DOS to install it, but..
