Oh nice. I just got an FX4 as well. I had to remove the plastic handle bit and two screws at the end but I got it into the C3700. It seems to boot and “work” (more in a second…) so that’s nice.
However since I just dove into the HPPA world, I am learning about the EVC connector. Good heavens…. I have a cheapo Amazon “projector” M1 / P&D / EVC to VGA cable. However I get garbled video with this. I tried an older 4:3 monitor and I even tried seeing if my OSSC (open source scan converter) would magically fix it up (it didn’t). The fact that I had to widen the connector on the cable with needlenose pliers doesn’t give me a lot of confidence.
I have an actual HP part dongle on the way (EVC - VGA). I also have a few other cables to try to frankenstein this out.
I know it’s not NetBSD specific but I figure you folks would know - if anyone can give me a quick and dirty on getting EVC to talk to a modern-ish VGA/DVI monitor I’d appreciate it.
In fairness - I guess the FX4 card could be bad as well, but I don’t get any nasty boot errors and I can almost read the text on screen. I can type and the screen updates as expected.
Thanks.
