Download, uudecode and transfer to your cf. 

Don't know where to find upgrade kit for 2.11, I have had mine for
years. You really only want the extra RAM anyway, winCE 2.0 is good
enough to launch hpcboot ;)

I don't think hpcboot is to blame if you get to "Updating motd",
you are running multi-user by then.

No, you have to enable it in rc.conf by entering a line like:
sshd=YES

I wonder if you should try with a line that says
sendmail=NO
in rc.conf and see if it stops hanging. Sendmail takes quite some
