It's as though this machine doesn't like the hpcboot.exe binary for
some reason.

Too bad it's not more specific about the cpu type. it merely says "Hitachi
SH3" and claims to have 8064KB ram.

The machine itself has a builtin POTS modem, IR, audio, builting CDPD modem, 
and a pcmcia slot.
