These machines have three power buttons:

  power : on the keyboard
  reset : on the keyboard, pressable with the stylus
  no, seriously now, motherfucking reset: inside the battery drawer.
     remove the battery, then press it with the stylus

Try pressing that third power button.  If that doesn't work, the only
other thing I can think of is to open it and disconnect the backup
button-cel battery for about an hour---who knows, it might help.
