I just built libpng-1.2.4 on my z50 (see bball, having a 1 gig microdrive 
is _not_ overkill ! :)

You can download it on the wiki:

warning: this tarball will extract the libs in the current dir. copy them 
to /usr/lib.

But, I didn't find it on my system, and I've run dillo. Did you get dillo 
from pkgsrc?
