From my experience setting up 1.5.2 on a 128 and 320 CF:

using sysinst:

make partition 0 a fat16 10meg partition
make partition 1 a 20 meg swap
make partition 2 the root partition (use the rest of the CF)

save the partitions, have sysinst get the tarballs and go thru it's install.

When you reboot into wince, it wants to format the 10meg partition- let it.

Then copy over the bootloader and Greg's Aug 17th kernal.

Don't newfs the msdos partition - let wince do it.

I don't think X will run on 128. It didn't fit on mine. I got a 320meg + 
next day shipping for $157 (www.upgradenation.com). X fits nicely on this.
