i have a 340MB and a 1GB md... both work well on the z50 and NetBSD... a
full NetBSD leaves about 110-120MB free on the 340 and w/the 1GB, well
maybe it's overkill for what i'm using the z50 (wireless terminal)... i
mean, a 128MB or 192MB CF would work equally well...

i have (IIRC) read somewhere that the 1GB md draws less power? i have not
tested or compared the drives... although a 340MB md costs less than
192MB-256MB CF... and despite the driver update and on-line stuff i've
read, i've had no trouble using the 1GB md w/CE... perhaps it was the size
of the partition that caused problems?

i do know from experience that the D-Link DWL-650 seems to draw less power
than the Linksys WPC11 for wireless ops... seems like i get longer
sessions using the D-Link card..

just my $0.39(US)-per-MB thoughts

:-)
