I've been looking to get a hpcmips machine, because I don't yet have any
MIPS based machines and I could use a good sub-laptop every now and then.

I like the NEC MobilePro 800 because it has a decent screen and USB, so I
can use it almost like a normal laptop (modulo driver support of course).

Initially however I would like to just set it up on my home network and
have it spend most of its time building -current and producing snapshots
to take some load off of people doing actual development.

I have a good NFS server available so I'll probably have /usr/src be an NFS
mount instead of trying to get a SCSI setup going.

First off, is the 800 supported well enough that what I have in mind here
is reasonable?

Second, what ethernet and CF cards do hpcmips users use and recommend?
I can afford good hardware here; I'm more interested in getting a
working machine going quickly so it can contribute to the cause.

For my personal purposes, just being able to boot from CF and edit/view
text files on the road is enough for now. Eventually I'll want X though.
