Colleagues,

Having tired of carting a laptop everywhere, I have a brand new
Jornada 720 sitting in front of me, and a decent-sized CF card on
order. I'd like to be able to use this for taking notes, program
development, reading email, and some other networking stuff -- let's
say tcsh, Emacs with AucTeX, VM and w3, LaTeX, Perl, Tcl, gcc, make,
ssh, and maybe Java. X would be nice but it's not essential. I'd
like to be able to use the internal modem or a radio-LAN card. I know
by reading past emails of this list that the 720 is capable of running
a bsd kernel, but I don't know quite how to get it on there, and which
of the wider set of tools are already ported. Could anyone point me
in the right direction?

I'm happy to put a reasonable amount of effort into any porting work
myself, and will be happy to pass on the ports and other knowledge I
gain to others.

..Adrian
