After qute some trouble I have now:
[jkunz@TheSnorch jkunz]$ uname -a
NetBSD TheSnorch 5.99.56 NetBSD 5.99.56 (GENERIC) #0: Sat Nov 12 06:36:48 CET
2011 jkunz@ickis:/usr/src/current/objdir/hp700/sys/arch/hp700/compile/GENERIC
hp700
[jkunz@TheSnorch jkunz]$ gdb --version
GNU gdb (GDB) 7.3.1

The machine is a B2000:
HP9000/786/B2000 (Kazoo W+)
real mem = 256 MB (73728 reserved for PROM, 244 MB used by NetBSD)
[...]
cpu0 at mainbus0 hpa 0xfffa0000 path 32 irq 31 ipl 0: PA8500
(Barra'Cuda) rev 0 cpu0: PCXW, PA-RISC 2.0, lev 1, cat A, 400 MHz clk

What tests should I perform now?
(I am no friend of gdb and not familar with gdb usage. So I would need
detaild instructions.)
