Hi,

I've cross-built a hp700 release on an i386 based on May 26 sources,
and tried using the resulting LIF image on a HP 9000/735. Dmesg
output follows below.

The LIF image contains the sysinst program. I tried running it, and
it starts up OK, detects that it has a single drive to install on, but
when told to continue, it seemingly hangs for a while and then hits a
machine check:

machine check: HPMC

bug in the port-specific part of DDB?)

I thought about retrying to do the installation by hand, but then I
realized I don't know what the machine dependent requirements are for
partitioning of the hard drive, where to put the boot loader, if it
has to be a particular partition type etc. etc.

So... This is just a data point. It would be nice if someone can
point to how we can find out where or why it fell on it's face.

I/O to the single-ende drive appears to work; I can successfully
install a disklabel with the disklabel program (but see above
regarding unanswered questions in that department).

Regards,

- H=E5vard
