   Actually the "sdboot" does nothing to do with SCSI disk
   (I sometimes test it via network boot :), and I'd like to
   change the name to "bootxx" (like alpha port) or something.
   
   As what name should it be installed in /usr/mdec ?


call the installed program "boot.$MACHINE" please.  this helps
multi-boot cds and the like.
