Ok, here at the Computer and Technologies Theme program we have
this hp9000-340. It sorta runs HP-UX 6.2 kinda. We want to put
NetBSD/hp on it, but we can't figure out how to get the root image
on the drive.
Here is what we have:
HP-340, 8megs ram, ~500megs HP-IB drive.
We have no other HPs around to, for example, netboot off of.
We have no other drives we can hook up to the thing.
We have no free slots on the HP to put in a, for example, SCSI card.
We do have a tape drive. I can boot off of the tape because we
do have the OS on tape. However, there is not enough on the fs on
tape to hit the network, so I can't get the root image that way.
How in the heck are we going to install this thing? Can I netboot
the thing off of my NetBSD/Amiga? I've been told that they only boot
off of another HP, is this correct?
It sure would be nice to get a NetBSD box running down here. We have
plenty of Linux/PC people around and plenty of bigotry at that. A
little variety would be nice.
