I think 'ftp's problem is with 'progress'.  I successfully downloaded
"201603140930Z/evbmips-mips64el/base.tgz" with the 'ktruss'ed ftp
(duplicating STDERR on STDOUT and piping it to 'tee' to capture the
log).  I usually extract the release sets with:

  # progress -ezf base.tgz tar xpf - -C /

but 'progress' got SIGSEGV and exited.  Using plain 'tar' worked fine.

Running with the snapshot "base.tgz" set produces the same segfaults
in 'mount_tmpfs', 'ntpd', and 'sudo'.
