Sorry, no one has ever found a way to boot from anything except the GD-ROM.
The only way I could see you doing this is by replacing the DC's builtin
ROM.

You can pick up spare GD-ROM units to replace your broken one.  I believe
Lik Sang sell's them, as does a few other online shops.
