FWIW, I had the same (non) success.

I followed the instructions at http://mc.pp.se/dc/cdr.html, and tried to
make a bootable image of a MP3 player (http://dcmp3.sdf1.net). It didn't
boot. I haven't tried with booting this after Utopia yet.
