Mounting SMB file system

I've been trying unsuccessfully to mount a windows
(SMB) share on my Raq 2+ running NETBSD 4.0 (GENERIC).
I get an error that there is no /dev/nsmb*  (see below):

marconi: {17} mount_smbfs //dalbert@armstrong/Volume_1 /mnt/armstrong
Password:
mount_smbfs: can't get handle to requester (no /dev/nsmb* device available)

Has anyone been able to do this?  Suggestions would
be much appreciated.  Thanks!
