Hello,

As I was not happy with the partitioning of the default netbsd cobalt
restore cd, I just planned to change the partitioning scripts and wanted
to rebuild the restore CD.

I tested twice and both tests did not work.

>>> TRIAL #1

I found this post :
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-cobalt/2006/04/01/0000.html

I took the ISO and I wanted to duplicate the ISO, change the script and
recreate the ISO.

but first surprise :
# mount
[...]
/dev/vnd0a on /mnt type cd9660 (read-only, local)

# df -h
[...]
/dev/vnd0a 256M 256M 0B 100% /mnt

# du -h /mnt
1.7G /mnt

so you imagine that recreating the CD was not possible, I must have
missed something here, but I don't know what (hard links does not exists
in iso9660 ?)

>>> TRIAL #2

I took the restore cd scripts from here :
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/tsutsui/cobalt/

I've built the following using build.sh :

tools for i386 in /usr/crosstools-i386
tools for cobalt in /usr/crosstools-cobalt
release for i386 in /usr/rel-i386
release for cobalt in /usr/rel-cobalt

then I ran the restorecd script using the parameters provided
and ends with a bootable cd that init the boot server successfully,
I replaced the nfsroot/install/scripts/install* scripts by modified ones
in order to change the partitioning.

the cobalt boot nicely but I keep getting this error from fdisk
at the time it takes information from the hard drive (fdisk -S /dev/wd0)
and on each call to fdisk.

# fdisk -S /dev/wd0
[1] Trace/BPT trap fdisk -S /dev/wd0

So the scripts fails because fdisk fails for some reasons i m not yet
able to catch..

any ideas where it could comes from ?!

the cobalt is a RaQ 2

uname -a as the following :

# uname -a
NetBSD client 4.0_STABLE NetBSD 4.0_STABLE (GENERIC) #0: Fri Dec 28
13:23:05 CET 2007
root@bearcave.no.phear.org:/usr/obj/sys/arch/cobalt/compile/GENERIC cobal=
t

and here is the dmesg :
# dmesg
