Do you know whether your patch has been already been integrated into
CVS?  I built a Restore CD based on the 1 Aug build,

...which successfully installs 4.0BETA2 onto my Qube 2.

Do you know of any other issues which could use more focus?  The
release of 4.0 is not too far off...
