Sorry you are correct, as far as I can see the system is fine, just
no info on the LCD after the last process that started up.

Yes you are correct, I do not have a doorstop, the system is fine.

Yep, it's as trivial as no IP address displaying on the pannel.

Yes I think you are correct, remember I'm a newbie to bsd, and also
being told that the LCD is known to crash confused me even more.

I did see a while ago a little howto on setting up the port as a
device so I could echo whatever I wanted to it, but I can't find it
now.

Also does anyone know the name of the process that displays the IP on
the LCD and how to start it?

Just for the record I think the previous ISO that I had that was fine
was 3.0 not 3.99.17.
