Hi,
I was a bit hesitant to run python on cube as a daemon so I wrote 
equivalent utility in awk and shell. I run it as a cron job and it takes 
0.35 second to complete. It seems to work well for me. If you want I can 
post it or link to it on my server. There is no documentation though but 
the script is very simple. I am working on improving it but at a slow pace.
