RedHat uses "vim", not the original "vi", so you should check to see 
what NetBSD has on the Qube.

Using the arrow keys in INSERT mode certainly is not standard vi. You're 
supposed to position the cursor, insert stuff, then leave insert mode. 
That's why there's insert, overwrite, and delete modes. When you're 
modeless, you can move. Sorry!
