A few weeks ago, a colleague put a 120GB drive into a RAQ2. We used a
"recovery" image [*] available from Sun to put Linux on the drive 
and then went about the usual method of installing NetBSD. The recovery 
image we used only recognises the first 20GB, but it is possible to change the
disklabel so that NetBSD uses the entire disc. He hasn't made me aware
of any problems...

[*] The image is a CD that runs on a PC and sets up a boot server for
the RAQ2.
