OK, I didn't find this in the FAQ - if someone tells me I'll put it in:

If I want to boot a test-kernel, how do I do that?
I presume the kernel will go into /boot/test.gz or so, what's the
"bfd" command to boot that? Just "bfd /boot/test.gz"?

The only Cobalt machine I have access to seems to need a new kernel, and
I'd better know in advance what I do, and don't want to nuke
/boot/vmlinux.gz. :->
