Hmm, my cats (at least with 0.6 firmware) uses fcom for console
both on firmware and kernel:

Which port do you connect a terminal, and what args do you specify
to boot your kernel? The secondary com port can be switched to
use com1 at isa or fcom by jumpers, and I'm not sure which port
is used on newer firmware/board.
