I think 4Mb ram makes X11 pretty useless...Very slow at least.

Mmmmmm, browsing a bit I find:
   /pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.1/atari   -- the first release including the atari
   /pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.2/atari 
   /pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.2.1/atari -- The latest formal release
   /pub/NetBSD/arch/atari         -- -current info + snapshots

Considering the fact that you have a Falcon, I think the 1.2.1 release would
be a nice starting point. There are README's and an INSTALL document there.
Another nice place to look for info is www.netbsd.org.
