Default compiler on NetBSD/arm32 1.5.2: gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314 
                                        (egcs-1.1.2 release)

Default configure options.

I solved the problem mentioned above by recompiling libmad only with 
compiler option -O

As there are a whole bunch of strange optimization flags in the Makefile, 
it seems to be a compiler "feature" in this case.   :-(
