It's been pointed out to me that the recent switch of SoftFloat
implementation has _seriously_ reduced the floating-point performance of
arm32 systems.  No-one mentioned this before I committed the changes, and
I'm too tired to persuade CVS to roll back the changes now, so they're
staying for the next few days while it's decided what to do.
