In my last tinkerings with Linux a few years back, I seem to remember that
Linux could support certain Xircom adapters.  They ran over the parallel
port, though - I've never seen one which fits onto the serial port.

Anywhoo, if that unit is a parallel Xircom, then we should be able to take
a look at the Linux drivers and write a driver (if they're clear enough
about what's going on).  The problem there is usually 1) finding someone
to write the driver, and 2) finding someone to test it...
