So I just got a DNARD Shark from a friend, and installed a 2.0 gig IBM
laptop drive in it, then installed the 1.4.2 beta snapshot on it. The
install worked perfectly, however, I cannot for the life of me get the
machine to boot from the drive. We've tried every imaginible combination
of things of the form

	boot disk netbsd

at the firmware prompt, but it always responds

"The attempt to load a boot image failed."

I can boot from the net, drop into a shell, mount /dev/wd0a, and see that
everything is where it should be, so I don't imagine this is a hardware issue.

My friend suspects that the version of Open Firmware requires some specific
feature of the drive, as his is the exact same model with an older ~770 meg
drive, and it boots fine.

Here's the HW info:

Shark (both): DNard Rev 5
OF (both): Feb 25, 1998 17:19:25
Drive (won't boot):	IBM DYKA-22160, 2067 M, 4200 cyl, 16 head, 63 sect, 512
byte/sect
PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, UDMA mode 2
Drive (will boot):	TOSHIBA MK2628FC, 773 M, 1571 cyl, 16 head, 63 sec, 512
bytes/sect
PIO mode 3, DMA mode 1

The drive seems to be the only difference betwen the two. I would be
overwhelmingly happy if anyone had an idea as to what was up. Could there
be a firmware update that would address this?

Thanks for any help. By the way, I'm pretty much a BSD newbie, so please
be gentle.
