Hi,
im just trying to set up netbsd for the first time.
i have a fairly ordinary system, but not matter what i do i cant get it to
work :(
i managed to get further than ever recently when i decided to unzip the init
kernel before booting :)
i get past the 8 colour bars, then the screen prints some information i cant
read as it goes to fast before the screen goes black. a white cursor appears
in the centre of the screen and tracks down, as if it is following some text
being written. it then ends up at the bottom of the screen and stops. if i
type anything the cursor moves, but i can see anything. when i press return,
it scoots off the screen and comes back again. if i hit esc or del i get a
beep, ctrl alt delete does not work, or ctrl break. i have to reset.
this is in a 256 colour mode.
if i use a 32k colour mode the same thing happens but the screen is
multicoloured not black like a magic eye thing :)

oh, and right at the beginning in 32k i get what could be a mouse pointer
down the left hand side, stuck, then it tracks down and dissapears. its very
oddly shaped though.

my setup is a rpc 600 RO4.5 upgraded to arm710
IDEFS card, and scanner card.
cdrom on adfs, 1 hdd on adfs
2 hdd on idefs.

can anyone help me b4 i give up forever!!!

TIA!
