I've just build a 1.4 version of config and tried it on a 1.4 source tree and
I get exactly the same failure. This means that something strange has happened
during the migration from my Seagate 6.4GB drive to 2 x 4.3GB Quantum drives.
All the files seem to be fine but the Quantum drives are much faster that the
Seagate they replace. The system does seem to be otherwise reliable while
running squid, inn and sendmail for my 2 machine home network. The drives are
attached as master and slave to a Simtec IDE podule.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could do to help track this down.
