To be honest, I haven't got a clue. Maybe Gimp doesn't look in /usr/pkg for
anything???? On other packages, such as KDE (if you build it with pkgsrc
- I didn't), pkgsrc modifies the makefiles to look in /usr/pkg. If you
copy /usr/pkgsrc/mk/etc.mk.conf (or whatever it's called) to /usr/mk.conf,
and change this file so it installs non-X stuff in /usr/local, you
don't get any problems.

Ask around. You need to upload it to NetBSD, I can't remember the exact
details.

What version is that then? I compiled 1.1.b and it worked fine. I had a look
at the FAQ and apparently KDE won't compile with egcs (!). Don't know about
koffice though.

I couldn't get mico 2.2.3 to compile. I got 'signal 11' and core dumps all over
the place. See my other posting for details. I'm going to retry 2.2.1.
