Sorry - I still haven't fixed the rgb_db problem. However, if you download
and install the old style fonts (a 1.2R set will do fine) that will fix the
fonts problem. This gives you enough to start X.

Hope this helps - I'm planning to write a script.

If you're a techie, btw:
cd to the X fonts directory (/usr/X11R6 ...)
go into each directory and cp all the gz files to another hard drive
directory temporary - must be empty
ungzip all the gz files in the temp dir
compress them to get .Z files
alter the fonts.dir file in the fonts directory appropriately
remove all the .gz files
replace them with the .Z files

Hopefully this routine should work, but then again...

Give us a week and I'll do my best.
