It seems you're not using the NetBSD package system, but you really
should. See http://www.de.netbsd.org/Documentation/software/packages.html
for more information. You can also use sup in the future to keep your
package tree up to date instead of the way described on this page so you
don't have to download these big tar archives again and again.
It also helps if your machine is connected to the Internet, but it's not
required.
