I use a 2.5" harddisk on my embedded controller running linux,
and which I am writing this on. It is a 44 pin IDE connector with
1mm cable spacing. The 4 extra pins are
41 VCC
42 VCC
43 GND
44 N.C.

The hd has no power connector except this. I hope this helps.
