Does that mean that if I create a DOS floppy with 20 512 byte sectors then
the floppy drivers will also barf?

And were you suggesting a filecore FS on 4 1K sectors?
(not sure if filecore could do new map, new directories onto 9 512 byte sectors)

PS you win no prizes if BSD's floppy drivers barf on odd DOS disk formats.
   It's not original. Solaris already kernel panics. You can't get more
   impressively screwed up than that (or can you?)
