Hi there.

After I have upgraded to UVM binaries only root can write
to floppydiscs.

The file attributes for a mounted floppy disk are

root@nethotel:/root => ll /floppy
total 1132
drwxr-xr-x   1 root  wheel    7168 Jan  1  1980 ./
drwxr-xr-x  21 root  wheel    1024 Nov  6  1997 ../

and the attributes for /dev/fd0a are

brw-rw-rw-  1 root  operator  17, 0 Jun  7 20:14 /dev/fd0a

If root tries to change the attributes of /floppy he gets
the following error:

root@nethotel:/root => chmod a+w /floppy
chmod: /floppy: Is a directory

What should be done to make it possible for ordinary users
to write to floppydiscs?

Regards
   Ib-Michael
