Hello there.

I am still fighting with XEmacs to get ordinary users
permissions to run it.

XEmacs originally had the following attributes:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 3080192 Nov 9 1997 /usr/local/bin/xemacs-19.15

but this allows only root to use XEmacs, all other users get a
memory exhausted error.

Setting the permission u=+sx on the xemacs-19.15 binary allows
ordinary users to use XEmacs, but all files written to disk are
written with owner:group ids root:wheel, not very practical.

However, I noticed that most v1.3alfa files have owner:group
id's bin:bin, whereas the UVM binaries have root:wheel id's.
Does this have any importance?

Regards
  Ib-Michael
