I didn't really want to use X anyway...

Well, ok, I probably did - which is why it dying is irritating. After
some random event (although it does appear to be coincedent with
remapping windows), X dies with the unhelpful message "Fatal server
error: Memory Fault"

Now, is there anything likely to cause this, cure this, or can I do
something to catch more error output?
